Custom Shopify websites
A Shopify store that looks like your brand, not like a template.
We design and build custom Shopify websites for brands that have outgrown a stock theme. The layout is planned around your products and the way your customers shop, then built as a proper Shopify theme you can run yourself.
Led by Ronen Hirsch, who is both a designer and a developer.
Why custom
A good theme gets you open. It rarely gets you remembered.
Theme store themes are built to suit thousands of shops at once. That is their strength, and it is also why so many stores end up with the same hero banner, the same product grid and the same footer. Once your catalog, your photography and your story have a shape of their own, a generic layout starts to work against them.
A custom Shopify website starts from your brand instead. We look at what you sell, who buys it and what they need to see before they buy, and design the pages to answer that.
Two ways to build
Semi-custom or fully custom.
Custom doesn't have to mean starting from a blank page. Most of our Shopify stores are semi-custom: a solid existing theme does part of the work, and we change everything that needs to look or work differently. Some stores need a theme built from scratch. We'll tell you which one fits.
Semi-custom
We start from a well-built Shopify theme that already handles the basics properly: cart, search, filters, speed and accessibility. Then we restyle it to your brand and rework it wherever your store needs something different, from a product page layout to new sections the theme never had. You get a store that looks like yours, sooner and for less, and the parts customers never notice run on proven code.
- Most brands launching or redesigning a store
- Stores whose needs are mainly look, layout and content
- A shorter timeline and a tighter budget
Fully custom
Every template is designed from a blank page and the theme is written from scratch for your store. Nothing comes from an existing theme, so there is nothing to work around, and every detail is decided for your brand. It takes longer and costs more, and it is worth it when a theme would end up rewritten anyway.
- Brands with a very distinctive design language
- Unusual shopping flows, like product builders or complex bundles
- Large catalogs or Shopify Plus stores tuned in every detail
What you get
Everything a new store needs, from first sketch to launch day.
Design
Page designs for home, collection, product, cart and the content pages, on desktop and phone, reviewed with you before any code.
Theme build
The approved designs built in Shopify, either on a proven theme we rework or as a theme written from scratch, with sections you can edit and rearrange in the theme editor.
Content and apps
Products, collections, navigation and pages set up, plus the apps you actually need, chosen so they don't slow the store down.
Launch
Testing on real devices, domain and checkout settings, redirects if you are coming from an older site, and a walk-through of how to run it.
Already on Shopify?
Redesigns of existing Shopify stores.
You don't need to start over to get a custom store. We can redesign your current Shopify site and keep your products, customers, orders and apps where they are. The new theme is built alongside the live one and published when it's ready, so the store keeps selling the whole time.
On another platform?
Move to Shopify with your products, customers and search rankings intact.
We plan migrations from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Wix, with redirects for every old URL that matters.
Questions
Common questions about custom Shopify websites
What is the difference between a custom Shopify website and a theme?
A theme from the Shopify theme store is a ready-made design you configure. A custom Shopify website is designed for your brand first, then built so the layout, sections and details fit your products instead of the other way around.
Should my store be semi-custom or fully custom?
Most stores are semi-custom. We start from a solid existing theme and rework it wherever your brand or your products need something different, which saves time and budget without making the store look like a template. Fully custom, with a theme written from scratch, makes sense for very distinctive designs, unusual shopping flows or large stores. We will recommend one once we have seen your store and your plans.
Can I still edit the store myself?
Yes. Everything is built with Shopify sections, so you can change text, images, products and the order of sections in the normal theme editor without touching code.
Do you redesign stores that are already on Shopify?
Yes. A redesign keeps your products, customers, orders and apps in place. We build the new theme next to your live one and publish it when it is approved.
Can you move my store to Shopify from another platform?
Yes. We handle moves from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Wix, including products, customers, order history where needed, and URL redirects. See moving to Shopify for the details.
How much does a custom Shopify website cost?
It depends on the number of page templates, the size of the catalog and any custom features. Send a few details through the contact form and we will come back with a clear quote.
Do I need a Shopify account before we start?
No. We can set up the store with you as part of the project. If you want to look around Shopify first, start a free trial. The store you create can become the real one, and we build the design on a copy next to it.

A few lines about your brand and what isn't working today is enough to start.
